Wendy Garza joins HSES as our Learning Specialist. Prior to joining HSES, she taught in CFISD and at The Parish School. She received her bachelor's degree in education from the University of Houston - Downtown and her master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas - Arlington. Wendy is trained in multiple dyslexia interventions through Neuhaus and The University of Southern Mississippi’s Dubard School for Language Disorders. She is also trained to work with students with dyscalculia and dysgraphia and is currently working on her certification as an academic language therapist. In her free time, Wendy enjoys the gym, cycling, doing Pilates, painting, and her 4 dogs! Wendy says, “One of the most rewarding aspects of working with children is their boundless curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new things. Witnessing their growth, discovering new skills, and seeing the world through their imaginative lens is truly such a blessing!” |
