Words are wondrous, and our focus on early literacy helps students fall in love with them from a young age. Our teachers use the highly respected strategies developed by Rice University’s School Literacy and Culture Program, which focuses on immersing children in the written and spoken word; showcasing the creativity and ideas of every child; and using play, dictation, and dramatization to make learning fun and stories come alive. Along the way, toddlers through kindergarteners develop fundamental skills that will help them succeed in later grades, while developing a love for reading and a sense of self that will enrich and empower them throughout their lives.
